that castle is huge and full of monsters. you can't tell me only lil D's and Barb & Dia live there. where are the guards ? the other workers?? little D's are more like silly children adopted by Barb- y'know when a family has debts to pay so the child goes to work at the castle

like that except there is no debt to pay they just want that lol

anyway so there are possibly more people in the castle, and Barb really doesn't.. do work that much. he mostly just bakes for Diavolo & when there are celebrations or other important things happening. that huge castle does not have one small kitchen istg the HOL's kitchen looks bigger 😭 and he also checks on the other worker's works, I prefer to think his duties are like Dia's. Diavolo is a very busy demon*, so he mostly does the work with people, and brings Justice™ to Devildom. ofc there are things Diavolo has to be present for, but most of the things are done either by Barbatos or people he chose (in different parts of the country, not everyone can meet the duke or the Prince himself.)

alright back on track I think the workers who work "above the ground" in castle are normal people/or "light" criminals or slaves left from war times (poor guys lol)

but lower, in the dangerous/more private parts of the castle like the dungeons or Diavolo's private garden The workers are poor souls who forgot everything they were. they're not allowed in the public unless its their body. I don'y think anyone truly knows if they've messed up so bad or Diavolo. just. just wanted them to work for him. cause theyre pretty perhaps?

And Barbatos is here to grant any of the young Lord's wishes.

*I still haven't thought of why Dia would be so damn busy I may even remove that part but its cool to think about. maybe he is still learning and chose Barb to do such things cause Barbatos knows all, and is trustable. idk really. but we know Dia is a spoiled brat so ?? maybe thats whats happening.

I really have to agree, there's no way Barbatos maintains that huge place by himself, demon or not. I've always headcanoned that he has a whole crew of helpers and guards and so on.

I also imagine the castle's kitchen to be absolutely ginormous. And he probably has a whole crew of cooks, too.

I like to think most of them don't live at the castle, though. Like they just work there and come and go and have varying shifts. Uhh but that's if they're just normal people and not criminals lol!

I suppose whether or not they actually did something terrible has to do with how deranged you want Diavolo to be. Like if he was really kinda off the deep end, he could absolutely just obtain people he thinks are pretty and for no other reason. That's real villain behavior generally speaking. But if you want him to be a little less that way, you could say they were criminals. Then at least there's a legit reason for it, even if the punishment is a bit intense... they are demons, so really there's a lot of ways you can go with it!

As for Diavolo being busy, I'm pretty sure it's canon that he is. I suspect it has to do with all of the crap that comes with ruling a kingdom. Paperwork, diplomatic meetings, making appearances at various functions, consulting with experts on things like constructions projects and the economy, and if Diavolo also has his own company in the human world, he likely needs to make appearances at meetings there, too... I'm just saying his canon job is extremely demanding. And then add RAD stuff to all that? Sheesh.

But this is one of the best parts of the castle stuff - they don't really get into a lot of detail about it. So you get to fill in all the details however you like!

Okay got to watch the dev dairy for lore, and I gotta say this more than anything has gotten me the most excited for pd3.

Firstly I am very interested in what the tl looks like as they mention gaining the pardons but it is also pretty clear from the pd2 dlc tapes the new bad guy is avenging Murkywater so my own theory is that the two versions of the white house heist are canonly combined, getting the pardons and confronting The Dentist/Healer.

Okay next is that I am extremely intrigued by Shade, an old comtact of Bain according to the devs, who swopped in just in the nick of time. I am admittedly not sure I trust her, so far all of Bain's old contacts have been allies to the gang, it could be time for a twist, though admittedly I'm not sure I want that. Either way I hope that like Duke, Bain's other well known old contact she knows about Katru stuff, it'd be hard to have the voice in the ear not in the know. Either way I am excited to learn more about her motives and goals.

Now as for Pearl I am really curious as to who brought her in and why she has mutual enemies with the rest of the gang after all why get involved with fighting a group who was able to take the assets of some of the best criminals in the world and has a shit ton of assianions on their side?

Also oof that Dallas is more somber now, I mean yeah life has been shit for him, lost Bain, lost his retirement and his brother is missing at best and at worst is dead.

Speaking of that I am curious about them implying the assassinaions might have killed members of the gang, my best guess is that crossover characters are the most likely to have met this fate or die during the story of the game since they can't show up much in the flesh anyways so at least they could add to the stakes. I am very willing to believe that the youtubers were taken out before the start of the game by the enemy group.

Also I found it both really funny and sad that apparently the worst time in Wolf's life was retirement but it does add up, he hasn't gotten any treatment for his extreme traumas and mental issues so like it's not like he could go to a civi life, besides as far as we know his family is m.i.a and the Payday gang was the only thing remotely close to a support system he had so like, no wonder he is happy that someone is now after he and the gangs lives and took everyone's money, it means he has his friends back alongside the only form of life he is currently adjusted to.

There is one thing that is on my mind tho... There are rn three main characters that are woman, both extra heisters and the voice in the ear, I believe this is to catch up with the core four being male, but... We need one more so either

A weapons dealer or something along these lines will be a woman

One of the first villains will be a woman

Or... hear me out, this is how Jordan Griffin could still be a main character in the payday franchise-

Marijon Week 2021 Day One Prompt: Blue Eyes||Identity Reveal

WHEN WAS SOMEONE GOING TO TELL ME THAT SUPERBOY AND LADYBUG COULD SING- [video attached]

[The Video starts shakily, pointing at a 45 degree angle to Superboy 2.0. He is hovering near the edge of the roof and softly strumming a ukulele, seemingly lost in thought. The video zooms in and he begins to hum the intro to Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish. He pauses, clears his throat, and begins in a beautiful tenor.

“I’ve been watching you, for some time. Can’t stop starin’ at those ocean eyes.” He flies backwards and sits on the edge of the roof, smiling.

“Burning cities and napalm skies,” a new voice continues. Superboy stops playing the ukulele and looks up, eyes wide. The cameraman gasps and pans to the right to find Ladybug. You can tell by her windswept hair and the way she is holding her yo-yo that she just swung onto the rooftop. “Fifteen flares inside those ocean eyes, your ocean eyes.” The camera follows her as she walks over to pull Superboy into a standing position. Smiling, the heroine continues in her surprisingly clear voice.

“No fair,” she nudges him. “You really know how to make me cry,”

Superboy snaps out of his stupor and joins her. “When you give me those ocean eyes, I’m scared. I’ve never fallen from quite this high falling into your ocean eyes, those ocean eyes.”

The song continues with the two of them dueting and harmonizing beautifly, crescendoing when appropriate and quieting down at the more serious parts. At some point, Ladybug grabs Superboy by the hand and pulls him to the center of the rooftop where she begins to dance. As the song comes to an end, they slow down considerably and their faces begin to drift closer. As soon as the last note leaves their lips, Superboy darts forward and captures her lips with his.

A whoop is heard from behind the camera, followed by an “Oh, shit!” when the superheroes break apart and look at the camera man. The camera shakes and the video ends.]
